Energy-Efficiency loans from the Carbon Trust
Interest free loans of between £5,000 and £100,000 are available to qualifying small and medium sized enterprises (SME's) looking to invest capital in energy saving projects. The loans are repaid over a period of up to 48 months depending on the energy payback of your project.
How repayments are calculated
Repayments for Energy-Efficiency Loans are interest free and the term of the loan is determined by the energy payback of your project. For example, if you are offered a loan of £6,000 and you expect to make energy cost savings of £2,000 per year, your energy payback ratio will be (£6,000 divided by £2,000 p.a. = ) 3 years. Therefore your repayments will be calculated to repay £6,000 over 3 years. Loan terms must be multiples of 12 months up to a maximum of 48 months (i.e. 12 months, 24 months, 36 months or 48 months).
Domestic, Business and Community Installation Grants for Wood Fuelled Boilers:-
The Clearskies and EST grant funding has changed. Please download information from the DTI Low Carbon Buildings Programme website. We suggest you check for updated information on their website.
Wood fuelled boiler systems - Level of domestic grant; regardless of size, maximum £1,500 subject to an overall 30% limit (exclusive of VAT). Stand alone room heater 20% or £600.
Procedure:-
Householder- contact DTi to see if you match the criteria (this also covers home insulation and energy saving procedures etc.)

Apply and the DTi send an application form or you can get it online. Paper version takes about 3 weeks with an offer or with rejection information. If you apply online the response is instant via email.

Dunster Wood Fuels are an Accredited Installer. Put our name on the form and when it has been processed and its agreed as ok you get an offer letter. 6 months is then allowed to complete the installation - we complete the completion certificates. Receipts get sent in to DTi and in approximately 15 working days they pay. 30% excluding VAT or £1,500 or 20% for a stand alone room heater or £600.
For Community and Businesses:-
A longer assessment period is needed - Community 30 working days (meet monthly)
Business - pre registration form completed, £100k to £1m is assessed quarterly. If funding is available in the given period it takes 8-12 weeks.
